“It’s the holiday season.” There’s been some snow falling, Christmas trees are getting put up and decorated, and lights are everywhere! This time of year is enchanting, magical, and also busy! There are so many Christmas themed events that it’s hard to choose which ones are the best! But these look like a lot of fun! Some of them are classic events that happen every year, while others are brand new this year! Check them out and then add them to your calendar!

ChristKindl Market-Downtown Market: Enjoy old-world Christmas traditions Wednesdays through Saturdays from November 19-December 23, 2025 at the Downtown Market! It’s a fun spot to find those unique handmade gifts for loved ones, enjoy a stroll through the beautiful decorations, eat some delicious food, and sip on classic drinks like mulled Glühwein (“glow wine”). It’s the perfect way to get into the Christmas spirit!

Holland has a similar market called Kerstmarkt at their outdoor farmer’s market with tons of vendors during the Christmas season as well. It runs weekends from November 21-December 20, 2025.

Frederik Meijer Gardens: Every year, Frederik Meijer Gardens transforms into an amazing Christmas wonderland filled with beautifully decorated Christmas trees, cultural displays, and the popular train garden! There’s plenty to see and take in either indoors or outdoors! Great activity for all ages to enjoy!

Victorian Christmas Walking Tour-Heritage Hill: Step back in time and enjoy a Victorian Christmas! This walking tour through popular Heritage Hill features stories of the original owners of the homes, tons of decorations, and traditions of Christmas from the Victorian era! It’s a fun way to celebrate and learn at the same time!

The Nutcracker by Grand Rapids Ballet: A holiday classic, The Nutcracker has been hundreds of stages worldwide. This is a story that never grows old and the music is timeless! A great event for kids and adults alike. Multiple performances between December 12-21.
