Date Night Ideas for Valentine’s Day in Grand Rapids!
Valentine’s Day is just around the corner, and if you’re left without a clue what to do, don’t worry, we’ve got your back! There’s always something to do in Grand Rapids, but especially on Valentines! From shows, to food, to adventures and more, try something new or go for an old faithful. However you do Valentine’s, it will be a great day! (Oh, and don’t worry singles, we’ve got ideas for you too!)
Go see a show! If you’re someone who loves theater, concerts, and other things like it, then you’re sure to find something you’ll enjoy in Grand Rapids. Here are a few ideas that we found:
- Candlelight Concert: Coldplay and Imagine Dragons
- Smells Like Nirvana at The Stache
- Murder Mystery Dinner at Pietro’s
- Pop Scholars: Improv Comedy
Learn something new! There are so many fun activities that you and your significant other can participate in and learn something new together. You don’t even need to be artistic or inclined toward crafts to enjoy these.
- Make some lovely smelling candles for your home-or save them to light for romantic nights. Dates for Valentines’s day are full, but there are times available the13th and the 15th, which could be a way to avoid all of the Valentine’s Day rush!
- Go paint together! There are a number of paint your own canvas studios in the area with different paintings. Quite a few of them may be sold out, as it is a popular date night, but we found this bear painting that is super cute!
- Decorate cookies! Learn cookie decorating techniques with royal icing and walk away with some fun sweet treats!
- Go and learn about art! The GRAM is hosting a special tour for Valentine’s Day. Enjoy hearing and seeing artwork and then get a chocolate treat after!
Grab some great food! Want something a little different for a date night out than the usual Valentine’s Dinner? Well, we’ve found some unique and delicious food experiences for you!
- Ed Dunneback’s and Girls always serves up an amazing 5 course meal! Just check out their menu!
- Try an afternoon tea! Don’t want to be out all night? Grab an afternoon tea at Amway Grand Plaza or High Tea GR and live out your English Literature dreams!
- Want a late night? Harmony Brewing has all the amazing snacks and drinks for you! Check out their late night menu!
- Do a food tour! Can’t decide where you want to go? Check out a food tour and get a smorgasbord of tasty bites along with some fun facts and history!
Have an adventure! Maybe you’re more of an outdoors person or physical activity loving couple, well, there’s plenty of adventures you can have too! Check out some of our picks below!
- Snowshoeing at Blanford Nature Center: take a walk in the evening following a lantern lit trail ending at the schoolhouse for a beverage and some chocolates! How romantic!
- Hit up Battle GR for some laser tag and social games! Go ahead, pit yourselves against each other-winner buys dinner!
- Spend the day at Cannonsburg! Go skiing, tubing, or fat biking! Whatever is your favorite adventure! Be sure to check out the lodge for some good drinks and food!
Single? Don’t worry, we found some fun events for you too! Whether you are looking to find a date or just to have fun with other singles, these events are great mixers!
- Grab your pickleball paddle for some fun at Dinks and Dingers! Pickleball games, speed dating, and of course food and drinks! No experience necessary to play!
- Go join the competition at Battle GR! 2 hours of activities with no pressure to make a connection. Just have fun while hanging out with other singles, friends, and third-wheels!
- Get your dancing shoes on and head down to The LIT for a night of speed dating and dancing lessons! Learn foxtrot, swing, line dances and more! Hosted by Grand Rapids Original Swing Society.
