Festivals and Fairs for August Fun!
West Michigan has a plethora of festivals and fairs! Towards the end of the summer, it seems there is a different festival or fair every weekend! We’ve rounded up some of the best events in the area for some end-of-summer fun this August.
- Grand Rapids Hispanic Festival (August 4-6)- Head on down to Calder Plaza for some of the best Hispanic food, music, dancing, and festivities! This is a free event and supports the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan.
- Breakaway Music Festival (August 18-19)- Multiple-day music festival at Belknap Plaza. This is a touring music festival that is occurring across multiple states in the Midwest/Eastern United States. There is a large lineup of music to entertain over the two days that it makes its stop here in Michigan!
- Burning Foot Beer Festival (August 26)- Head up to Muskegon for this popular festival right on the beach! One day of beer, music, food, and enjoying the beautiful beach! Best enjoyed barefoot.
- Return to the River-Music and Art Festival (August 26-27)- Right along the Grand Rapids River Walk, this is a free event that will be fun for the whole family. Fun art installations, riverwalk tours, body marbling, circus performers, and live music!
- Hudsonville Community Fair (August 21-26)- While small, this is one of the best fairs in West Michigan! Celebrating 90 years, the Hudsonville Fair has motocross, carnival rides, animals, demo derby, rodeo, and all the other things that are quintessential to a county fair! Make sure to check out the full schedule and plan your day at the fair!
