Outdoors

  1. Belknap Park-Grand Rapids: The most well-known area to play in Grand Rapids. There are 21 courts to play on and it’s almost always busy! It is also the hosting site for the Beer City Pickleball tournament. Courts are free to use and have amenities like bathrooms, lights, and water. You can check the cameras on Grand Rapids Pickleball Club’s website to see how busy the courts are before heading over, but a lot of the fun is in the community even if you’re waiting for a turn to play.
  2. Schmidt Heritage Park-Grand Haven: Located south of Grand Haven off of Ferris, these courts were finished earlier this year and aren’t quite as popular, so there are usually openings to play. There are 12 courts all with permanent nets and lines. Restrooms are available on site.
  3. Bicentennial Park-Byron Center: 12 acrylic and hard paved courts that are really popular in the mornings. If you’re looking to join other players, they have rotational open play every morning for those with a 3.5 rating to higher. The courts are wheelchair accessible and there are restrooms on site.
  4. Spring Lake Central Park-Spring Lake: Tucked away on the outskirts of downtown Spring Lake, Central Park has 8 permanent courts that are free to use! Stop by Front Porch for some delicious local ice cream after a game!
  5. Park Township Community Park-Holland: Located across from the Ottawa County Fair Grounds, this park has 10 permanent, hard surface courts. They are free to use and even have lights if you want to put in a late game! If they are busy, drive down Ottawa Beach Road and you can find Winstrom Park where there are 4 permanent courts for free use.

  2. All-in Pickleball-Grand Rapids: The only completely pickleball dedicated indoor facility with state of the art courts and 16ft netted enclosures so you don’t interrupt the game next to you with rogue balls. They have ladder leagues, lessons, and more! There are various fees to take advantage of the space, but you do not need a membership to play here.
  3. Grand Rapids Racquet and Fitness: The the rainout site for the Beer City Open, this facility has 8 courts with room to chalk more on the tennis courts. You don’t have to be a member to play here, but you’ll want the CourtReserve app for your phone to schedule a reservation. It’s $6/hr. plus $6 per person for non-members.

Unique Places to Play

  1. Broadleaf Brewery + Spirits-Kentwood: This place is awesome if your looking for that social brewery atmosphere while playing pickleball. They have a free membership program to reserve a court, and it is $10/hour for playtime. There are other fees for equipment usage if you don’t bring your own.
