Best of West Michigan: U-Pick Blueberry Farms!

Did you know that Michigan produces around 110 million pounds of blueberries every year? West Michigan is an especially high producer of blueberries because of the climate and sandy soil, making our area known for blueberry picking! Blueberry picking season typically runs from mid-July to mid-August giving you lots of opportunities for picking. If you’re looking to pick some blueberries this year, check out one of these U-pick Blueberry Farms!

Bowerman’s Blueberries, Holland

Famous for their blueberry donuts, Bowerman’s knows blueberries! They have a 100-acre farm and farm store where you can pick your own blueberries or buy them ready picked! U-pick hours are from 9am-8pm and it is $2/lb. In their store you can find their blueberry donuts, jams, other baked goods and treats, ice cream, and pizza for lunch or dinner!

Crossroads Blueberries, West Olive

A well-known landmark on Lake Michigan Dr., Crossroads Blueberries offers a ton of fun for blueberry season. Their u-pick hours are from 9am-5pm, and it’s $2/lb. They offer buckets for you to pick in, and they have containers for you to take them home. After you’re done picking don’t forget to check out the store! They have a frozen yogurt bar, ice cream, baked goods, ready picked berries, and more! There’s also an awesome playground for the kids!

Reenders Blueberries, West Olive

Located right off US-31, Reenders has been a staple in West Olive for almost 70 years! Their farm is 800 acres with 12 different blueberry varieties. Hours are from 8:00am-5:30pm Monday-Saturday and it’s $1.85/lb. Like Crossroads they offer their own buckets for picking and will provide you with take away containers. You may need to pick up a famous blueberry pie on your way out and other fruits and treats they have in the store!

Grange Ave. Market and You Pick Orchard, Rockford

Quickly becoming a favorite fruit spot, Grange has a huge orchard with a variety of different fruits for u-pick including cherries, peaches, raspberries, apples, nectarines, and of course, blueberries! They are constantly adding more plants to their orchard as they listen to what their customers want. Their farm market is huge with a large variety of fruits and vegetables as they are in season. Definitely worth checking out no matter what your fruit needs are!

Lindberg’s Blueberries, Coopersville

Probably the oldest farm in this list, Lindberg’s is a Michigan Centennial Farm, meaning they’ve been owned and operated by the same family for over 100 years! They are also MAEAP certified, which means they are environmentally conscious and friendly farming in ways that reduce erosion and runoff, keeping chemicals properly stored, and using the highest safety precautions when distributing pesticides. Their prices are $7.50 for a 4lb bucket or $13 for a 7lb bucket. Hours are from 8am-8pm Monday-Friday and 8am-5pm on Saturdays. They grow 6 different varieties with Nelson’s being the most popular.
