Fall Home Decor Tips!
Fall is officially here, and that means decorating for the season! I love decorating for fall, it feels homey, warm, and cozy while still being full of color! There are so many ways to decorate for fall you can go with the traditional oranges, browns, and greens, or blend in different colors of blues, whites, and pinks! Go full on spooky or add in some subtle spooky things for Halloween as well! Let’s talk through some key things you want to look for to make your home ready for the season!

Oh My Gourds! These vegetables make for the most amazing decorations! Pumpkins and other gourds are rich in color and texture and are the top decoration for fall! I love the newer varietals that are creamy white, peachy pinks, and sage greens. Go for mixing and matching sizes, shapes, and colors to create fun centerpieces on tables, mantles, and your front steps! Hint-they don’t even have to be real gourds either! Buy some fake ones and use them year after year to save money!

Mum’s the Word! Flowers and foliage bring in some amazing pops of colors and smells from the outdoors. I love the variety of colors in mums! From deep reds to bright yellows to beautiful magentas, you can find a mum color to match any of your decor. Use big planters to fill in your front steps and small planters inside! Mums are pretty hardy too as long as they get enough water, so you can expect get a long life out of them even when it gets a bit chillier outside. If you want a beautiful perennial in your yard, mums fit the bill as well! For some lower maintenance flowers and foliage inside, grab some branches with colorful leaves for a bouquet, or decorate with some dried foliage like lavender, sage, eucalyptus and more. Even dried long grasses, cattails, and other items make for beautiful fall arrangements.

Bring on the Textures! Fall is all about nature and all about textures! Adding cozy throw pillows and natural textured throws and rugs bring in that coziness that is what fall is all about! You can even add texture on your table settings with a burlap runner. Other places to consider bringing in different textures: curtains, lampshades, bookcases, and more.

Add in Metals! Touches of gold and silver (depending on your tastes) can add elegance or lend to rustic charm. Galvanized metals, tarnished brass, and bronze can bring more of a farmhouse or rustic feel while polished metals add elegance and a “finished” look.
If you’re looking for ideas and inspiration for your fall decorating, the internet is full of them! I lot of my inspiration came from this blog by The Turquoise Home. Pinterest is a great place to scroll through and curate the look you want, or just walk around any craft store or home decor store to garner ideas (and maybe some fun items too). Whatever you do, make your home yours!
